Website and Media Database for the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning

The Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning is one of the largest, but also one of the most individualized, at the TU Wien. The website is not only intended to present an image of study and research at the TU, with the help of an optimal user experience, but also serves as a service site for the numerous students.

The minimalist UI design is supported by the clear imagery and symbolic navigation aids that meet the specific needs of the industry. Internal and external links to institutes, as well as the main site of the TU, lead users through the maze of study and active university life of the faculty with numerous exhibitions, projects and events. eZ Platform was used as the technical basis for the new website.

In recent years, a large database of 100,000 data sets – consisting of plans, pictures, awarded diploma theses, projects and courses has been set up. This database has been completely redesigned and reprogrammed on the basis of eZ Platform, and equipped with easy-to-use search and note features that help students and faculty in their work. Exceptional work can be put online at any time by the students and is therefore available to colleagues in the new a + rBase.
