Topprodukte.at is a neutral and manufacturer-independent information platform of “Klimaaktiv” – the climate protection initiative of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK). The website informs consumers and professional procurers about the purchase of high-quality, energy-saving products in over 40 categories. The platform therefore makes an important contribution to the transparency and development of the Austrian market.

Products are selected on the basis of manufacturers’ specifications, which are based on European regulations and standards – such as the EU energy label, the Energy Star program, the Austrian Eco-Label, and test reports from accredited testing institutes. Depending on the product category, other environmental and quality criteria (e.g. noise, water consumption or service life) are also included in the evaluation in addition to energy consumption or energy efficiency.
